Edmonton Photo of the Week

Yup. That's an owl. In EDMONTON.

This shot of a barred owl comes to us via Flickr user sirkillex, who went bird hunting (in a good way) at Whitemud Creek Ravine.

This photo reminds us that nature is never very far away, even out here on The Godforsaken Flat. Plus, wildlife photography is notoriously difficult and expensive - this shot is very sharp even though it was taken at 500 mm. The longest lens I own is 200 mm (lens envy - Freudian?). Well done, sirkillex.
